The Bough Part 1 Project 2019 Saubhagini Mahajan Sushant University | India The process that led to the creation of the Bough was a parallel path between hybrid stratification and the study of the skin that would envelope the final structure where in the programmatic division of the building took constant queues from the context of the site as well as three major programmatic factors- the public, private and semi public spaces. Moreover the site also served as an inspiration for the creation of plaza’s both on the ground floor and the floor above in the form of terraces. The Bough rises beyond the traditional understanding of a hybrid structure and instead of merely stacking the similar programs vertically takes a different approach and integrates them continuously throughout the building and often on the same level. As it rise The Bough twists and turns as a response to the sun orientation and also the view of the lotus temple offered by the site. And finally the skin is formed by the principles of the tectonics and the structure of echinoderms. Saubhagini Mahajan Tutor(s)
