Dundee Idea Store

Part 1 Project 2008

The Dundee Idea Store: The concept at the foundation of this design was generating a sense of ownership for the community by providing an architectural proposal that dominates its place within the city through its monolithic presence.
The weight of the external façade is mirrored internally through the exposed walls of the structure that lift the mass of building above the street entrance and define the dramatic spaces that continually play with the contrast of light and dark to provide dynamic places for quiet contemplation or hubs of activity to connect and stimulate the people of Dundee.
