Interpretation Center of the Huaca and the City in Puruchuco Part 1 Project 2023 Ariem Ramirez University of Lima | Peru The project began with a preliminary analysis of the basic needs in the surrounding area, as well as the everyday activities of the immediate users in the intervention zone. Based on this analysis, the project aimed to establish a strong connection with the context in which it is located. As such, the proposal includes both a public and private program, tailored to address the activities and basic needs lacking in the Puruchuco area. The primary goal of the public program is to provide comfort and education to the residents of the district in need, particularly since the analysis revealed the presence of a human settlement not far from the archaeological complex. Additionally, the design incorporates a public space to entice people to engage with the project. On the other hand, the private program aims to offer information about the history and culture of the former Puruchuco, catering to both local residents and visitors from other regions. Concerning the project's relationship with the architectural context of the Complex's area, a modest design with an unobtrusive form was proposed, emphasizing a strong connection with the Puruchuco huaca. Elements inspired by the language of the huaca, such as walls of varying thicknesses, level changes, and rhythm, were thoughtfully integrated into the design. Moreover, the strategic placement of the project allows for a more harmonious visual relationship with the Puruchuco huaca, taking into consideration the flows that enable visitors to access it conveniently, without having to navigate around the entire project.
