Body of landscape as a perception of speed, based upon ‘Speed and politics’ by Paul Virilio

The main purpose of this thesis is to combine three notions into one spatial object: speed, perception and a landscape.
Based upon Paul Virilo’s essay Speed and Politics, speed is perceive in two ways: as a causing factor of changes of culture and civilization, and as a issue of (de)urbanization, which prepare ground for new spatial objects (spaces).
The author presents an analysis of highways as space objects, and defines supraobject (supra - above) as a separate category of space, describing structures attributed with their own space autonomy in relation to their context, and separate jurisdiction accompanying their use, to which the author includes highways as well. Definition of supraobject is developed with a support of the analysis of abstract work from conceptual architecture discourse titled Continuous monument, issued in 1969 by design group Superstudio, and then the synthesis of those two is made by creating a description of an object named: a body of landscape.
The author’s idea is to analyze the landscape as human body (seen as a phenomenology perceive of senses, not as an geometrical objects). Phenomenological description of body, sees a landscape as a living form having his own dynamics, facture, temperature, sensuality, etc.
The author finds that the perception of landscape and any spatial objects, is depended on the speed of moving observer. If the observer moves faster – the perceived details are replaced by the mass of the objects (blurry vision effect). Every subject on the highway is involved to be a
part of multiple relations between speed, perception and moving landscape
A body of landscape, by author's definition is a continuous megastructure, fulfilling space paradigms of the supraobject (space continuity, space autonomy, internal jurisdiction defining the way of
using). Conclusions were a basis for designing heterotopical space: a hypermall. The object located only in the close context to the highway, became a endless line of an artificial horizon for all subjects using the highway.
