This dissertation presents an examination of the Alton Estate in Roehampton, in view of offering a critical reflection on post-war social housing in London, its aspirations and relevance today. The writing identifies the architectural trends of the period and details how their application at the Estate has since coped with today’s society and needs, including the future plans and renovation works that have now been deemed necessary.
