Symbology and the Senses: A study of Peter Zumthor’s Two Chapels Part 2 Dissertation 2016 Hannah Grayson Birmingham City University | UK This dissertation explores the layers of symbolism in two of Peter Zumthor’s chapels and the role these have in moving visitors to these places and stirring people’s emotions. Visits to the chapels and their surrounding areas have uncovered how the architect has used their construction techniques and materials to provoke emotional responses.
