Part 1 Dissertation 2017
Tatiana Muringani
University of Plymouth | UK
This text explores how the collective memory of Zimbabwe was preserved despite attempts to erode it by colonialism. It does this by addressing questions of identity and time. In particular, how aspects of national memory and preservation are embodied in architectural memorials such as monuments, as well as more poetic and immaterial elements such texts and totems.
