In The Enchantment of Modern Life (2001), Jane Bennett tends to an enchanted modern world, which is shifty and indeterminate, provoking breathless fascination.

This thesis proceeds as three tales, writings and drawings, considering how expanded architectural practices might approach such a world, and encourage shifted sensibilities. This involved making which acknowledged and cultivated delight in the world that now surrounds us, responding in process and materiality, to its unstable rhythms.

Tale Two: selkies and other metamorphing creatures. Bennett argues the enchantment of hybrid creatures lies in the way they are visibly moved by the irresistible compulsion of metamorphic forces.
Tale Two: The act of drawing. Motion capture records a four hour drawing, drawing out the intimate moments, the secret hesitations, when the pen is put down or pauses in mid-air.
