The Exploration of Proportional Techniques and the Resulting Volumes in Palladio’s Work Part 2 Dissertation 2018 Kirsty Lucas Robert Gordon University | UK This dissertation explores whether Palladio created the heights of rooms within his buildings using one of three specific mathematical means calculating the dimensions of each room. Five case studies are investigated, where the height of each room is compared to the width and breadth to establish if either the arithmetic mean, harmonic mean or geometric mean could be identified as the rule that Palladio used to create the room height.
