Ballard’s Tachistoscope Part 2 Project 2018 Daniel Elkington University of Lincoln Lincoln | UK The project explores the dichotomy between reality and representation created by the media through an exploration of JG Ballard’s novel The Atrocity Exhibition. Birnbeck Pier in Weston Super Mare becomes a Ballardian landscape; the ultimate playground to test Ballard’s spatial narratives. The project programme is focused on providing an environment for the distinction between reality and representation; spaces to understand how plastic surgery and advertising can create illusions.
