Turner Contemporary Institute of Colour Part 2 Project 2016 Alex Fotherby University of Greenwich | UK Using JMW Turner’s atmospheric paintings as a departure point, the project proposes a new form of gallery where individual paintings are physically recreated through artifice and illusion. Rather than simply looking at a Turner, visitors to the Colour Institute can physically inhabit his paintings, saturating themselves in the varied and ethereal conditions presented in his works.
