The Making Market Part 1 Project 2022 Emma Sarah Fordyce Morrison University of Dundee | UK This project seeks to explore the methods and principles behind the idea that Markets could become an indication of a more serious rethinking of the sell and buy trade. One that went beyond the commercial domain of shopping but instead became a vehicle to bring a community back into Old Aberdeen. I believe that architecture is unique in its ability to create the potential for social action and activity.So why not establish that space as something that creates opportunities for the future? By rethinking the general idea of the sell / buy trade and in-turn re-inventing the ‘market’ by introducing the ‘making’ – a space where artists can freely create and teach - The project in turn becomes a hub not only for communities to gather to buy and sell, but also to make and learn.
