Mental Oasis: Children Development and Youth Empowerment Center Part 1 Project 2024 Maryam Mohamd Ali Elkhadrawy Abu Dhabi University | UAE Located in Al-Reem Island in Abu Dhabi the Children’s and Youth Development Center is inclusive to all Children and families. The center contains various therapeutic spaces that help families deal with Children in distress, autism and those suffering from depression. These spaces are divided into a Serene Zone and an Entertainment Zone. Therapy spaces in the Serene Zone include learning zones and parent empowerment center. Furthermore, a consultation center dedicated for families. counselling zone, and behavior modification units. The upper more private areas include a children’s reading corner, the research hall and staff research center, main community library and mediatheque. An overarching structure offers the community a new kind of shaded space that contributes to the well-being of families. Visitors are free to decide whether to be in open or enclosed spaces all around the center. The spaces on all floors for different user groups are interconnected via courtyards to create pleasant microclimates where children their families and therapists can enjoy quality time.
