Whispers of the Flow

Part 1 Project 2024

As cities become hard and harsh, tangible, social, and site connections are lost as people become more anti-human and disassociate from habitat, people, and self.

We remember to live but forgot to dwell.
Dwelling must allow communication between the outer world and the inner self. It’s a learning process of exploration, discovery, understanding and interpretation of natural phenomena.

Taking in those 'whispering hints' from the site, the project proposes a community renewal riverscape seeking to reconnect communities by reviving the natural flow of life and learning to appreciate the river's existence beyond utilitarian purpose. The project takes its cues by beginning its journey on recognising the significance of water in shaping the site's identity- rooted in the regenerative power of rivers to inspire a harmonious balance and restored connections.

The project is a testament to understanding relationships: how we view the site, how we view ourselves and how the site views us- emphasising the fluidity and natural flows, envisioning it as a landscape that changes the current segmented paradigm within the dimensions of community life. Ultimately, triggering the coexistence of mutual respect between site and dweller, together striving for a harmonious relationship that benefits both humanity and the natural world.
