Refuge - San Félix, Colombia Part 2 Project 2025 María Valentina Salas Vargas Pontifical Bolivarian University | Colombia In response to the vulnerability of human rights in rural areas, REFUGE is conceived to give visibility to the pain experienced by those affected, and to expose this issue through two main premises:The perception of refuge through communal unity—hence, a plaza is created to RECONNECT the community. The perception of refuge through shelter—providing protection for the population and evoking a sense of REFUGE embedded within the landscape. To fulfil the project’s purpose, Refuge is composed of three elements: Nature, connected through a museum-circulation route, and the Refuge itself. This museum circulation links the three main nodes, which reveal how nature has also been a silent victim of Colombia’s armed conflict. Within these nodes, tree species affected by the conflict are exhibited. These core elements structure the distribution of the programme, while the museum circulation unifies the project beneath the ground. Tutor(s)
