Weightless Temple Part 1 Project 2007 Christopher Raven University of Nottingham Nottingham | UK Weightless Temple is discovered by an Archetypal Iconoclast in a hidden site in Conway, Wales. The building explores Jean Baudrillard’s notion of ‘Weightlessness’ and Jacques Derrida’s notion of ‘Paper’ using Progressive Dialectics. A series of armatures act as Intermediate ‘Paper Machines’ between the real and the hyper-real. The digitisation, relocation, and ultimate destruction of interpreted ontologies are bi-allegorical of the Scientist’s Paradox and the Diminishing Image and allow the Iconoclast to experience the process and the product of Weightlessness.
