The site, chosen for its challenging terrain and UNESCO-protected status, offers a compelling setting for eco-tourism and biodiversity research. The design, inspired by the former Soviet base, maintains a circular footprint to minimize soil disruption. Its funnel-shaped roof collects and reuses rainwater, reflecting a commitment to sustainability.Utilizing stone, wood, concrete, and cor-ten steel, the structure harmonizes with the surroundings. Vertical wooden columns shield the façade from rain, while the Posi-Joist framework of steel and timber allows for expansive, efficient design.The center features educational spaces, a research center, a restaurant, and varied cabin accommodations. Elevated on steel columns, the cabins preserve soil integrity and are connected by bridge pathways.
