Centro de Tierra: Sustainable Construction Training Center Part 2 Project 2024 Belén Rodríguez Anáhuac Querétaro University | Mexico Currently 70% of the housing in Mexico is self-built. The Sustainable Construction Training Center 'Centro de Tierra' seeks to train the Tejocote community in sustainable construction techniques, such as the use of vernacular materials, and to promote construction with passive and active techniques that are environmentally friendly. The goal is to bring architecture to a truly sustainable point, as there is currently no specialized labour in this area. The center represents an opportunity for the positive transformation of the community of El Tejocote and will not only provide residents with the necessary training to build safely and efficiently, but will also boost economic development, strengthen the social fabric, and promote environmental sustainability in the community. This project represents a significant step towards a more promising and equitable future for the community. Belén Rodríguez Tutor(s)
