The concept of "Digital Immigrants," proposed by Marc Prensky, suggests that individuals born in the digital age are adept at using technology, while older adults often face significant challenges in adapting to it, resulting in their status as digital immigrants. This raises the question of how architecture can facilitate the integration of older adults into the emerging smart age.

A literature review indicates that libraries, with their digital resources and social education functions, are uniquely positioned to assist this demographic. My manifesto, "Intelligent Library: Bridging the Digital Divide for the Aging Population," outlines specific digital education services that libraries can offer, including the establishment of age-appropriate spaces, the enhancement of social partnerships, and the provision of comprehensive digital literacy training.

In the formal conception of architecture, I used the prototype of a sailing ship to symbolize that this library can be a ship that carries the elderly into the new intelligent world.

Accessibility is paramount in selecting library locations for older adults. In Suzhou, libraries serve as emotional touchstones, fostering memories and enhancing one's sense of identity and belonging. This project aims to bridge the digital divide for the elderly by combining traditional elements that promote belonging with modern technology, thereby realizing a contemporary transformation.
