The Gamified City: The City of LLUH

Part 2 Project 2024

The Gamified City is envisioned to be an innovative floating city project which responds to the threat of rising sea levels, particularly in the city of Hull, which is expected to be partially submerged by 2053.

This futuristic floating city is envisioned as a 30-year development plan in which the city floats on the sea and utilises the concept of 'Play to Earn'. It combines technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Gamification to create a sustainable urban environment where life, work and Play are seamlessly integrated with AI games to transform work tasks into engaging and rewarding activities.

The city environment uses virtual and physical elements to create an 'Augmented Space' that adapts to users in real-time. This led to the 'Hybrid Fusion' architecture movement, which made architecture more adaptable, customisable, and personalised.

The project is inspired by Ian Bogost’s book 'Play Anything". It uses 'Gamification' and AI-driven games to simplify city operations and promote a balanced lifestyle. It aims to create a healthy, community-based gaming culture focused on collaboration, and sustainability.

The gamification project demonstrates how a gamified floating city can address real-world problems by integrating virtual and physical realms to create a personalised urban future, encouraging public involvement in urban development and climate challenges.
