Culture Trails Part 2 Project 2023 Muhammadh Akbar Ali Deen City School of Architecture | Sri Lanka The dynamic nature of our world calls for architecture to adapt and evolve with the changing needs of society. As users of a space can we craft our journey through it and if so, could a city be experienced in varying levels of engagement of our choice? The core idea was to experience Kandy at different levels. Strategic locations of interventions with activities integrated with heritage targeting all elements of culture dispersed within the city created an experiential path for the user. This would attract users giving an experience enhanced with a bit of knowledge allowing specific heritage activities to be practiced, protected and nourished.Creating a sense of excitement and curiosity within a user ensures their keenness to explore places and the project allows them to craft their journey, guiding them through pathways that cater to their specific needs. This approach ensures that the design is actively used and visited throughout the year, making it a vibrant and integral part of the cityscape and exploring the possibilities of architecture as a means of creating dynamic, functional and meaningful spaces through the use of changing visuals and shifting vistas which unfold gradually creating the need for Exploration.
