Sri Lanka is home to about 160,000 limb amputees, mostly from a three-decade civil war, while others suffer limb loss from accidents, illnesses, or congenital issues. In this developing country, economic barriers make prosthetics unattainable. High-priced prosthetics are rare across developing regions in Asia and Africa, as Western manufacturers primarily serve their local markets, neglecting those with economic constraints. Our project aims to transform the lives of disabled Sri Lankans, including many brave armed personnel, helping them reintegrate into society.

Our project’s location Homagama, Pitipana, is named by Urban Development Authority as the Tech-Zone in Colombo in their development plan for 2050. This area, with its five tech-focused universities, the Sri Lanka Institute of Biotechnology, and a planned teaching hospital, offers resources for developing bionic prosthetics. This rich environment and the urgent need for affordable, high-quality prosthetics drive our innovative project.

Main aims of the project:
1. Research, develop, manufacture, and export bionic products to boost economic growth.
2. Promote and sustain a globally engaged scientific research community in Sri Lanka.
3. Create a space for innovation and knowledge expansion.
4. Establish a rehabilitation facility for physically challenged patients, integrating medical expertise,
technology, and engineering
