Refabricating the Wansborough Paper Mill Part 2 Project 2024 Anna Fabiola Knight González University of Reading | UK In 2015, the closure of the Wansborough Paper Mill ripped a core part of Watchet’s identity and motor. This project aims to patch the hole left by this loss by proposing a new locally-fuelled industry of textiles and hemp products. The project goes on to explore the potential of the products manufactured on site using the buildings proposed as a prototype to advertise their use and as a narrative device of the larger site story. To restitch the site to its context, key figures from the town’s mythos have been identified and embodied by asking the question ‘What would a temple to these figures look like?’.
