Temporality Part 1 Project 2022 Ahmed Hamid Birmingham City University | UK The concept of temporality was developed through the analysis of the identity of Wednesbury Market. The market space was once located at Wednesbury's famous Clock Tower built in 1911 to commemorate the coronation of George V. It has since then relocated through several different spaces. The public hold the memory and history left behind each time it moved. The intention behind the proposal was to allow the user to experience time as they walk through space. Creating a scheme which breaks the routine of life and encourages the user to appreciate their surroundings. The scheme has been designed in a way which allows sunlight to filter through the spaces. This is important in order to create a strong contrast between light and dark, accentuating the notion of time. The purpose of this is to give people a better appreciation of life, so we can learn to enjoy the moment. Ahmed Hamid Tutor(s)
