Crimmonmogat Square and Market Part 1 Project 2023 Calum McLeod-Petrie Robert Gordon University | UK A neo-gothic Spire ionic temple front and an ornate cupola frame the Crimmonmogat Square and Market. This civic complex with a market hall at its heart, is an engine for community interaction nested at the intersection of the prominent union St and Huntley St junction. To achieve a stronger connection to the community the market hall provides integrated seating along the Union Street façade and canopies that swing upwards to create a sheltered area with seating underneath. Furthermore, the internal organization of the market hall space is made adaptable using integrated furniture that can slide outwards to form market stalls or retract to bring comfort as regular seating. The development sits low surrounding a new town Square which allows the network of landmarks to be seen standing proud behind the intervention. This is to deepen the connection between the individuals of the community and the symbols of their unique identity. Tutor(s)
