Bastion 360 Part 1 Project 2025 María Camila Herrán Hernández Pilot University of Colombia Bogota | Colombia The Bastion 360 project is a hybrid high-rise building that responds to the disconnect between Cartagena’s historic, protected, and tourist core and the expanding contemporary city. It serves as an urban, social, and sensory bridge between these two realities.Spanning over 24,000 m², the building integrates diverse programs: permanent and temporary housing, hotel, Airbnb-type units, coworking, commercial, cultural, and recreational areas. The ground floor functions as an extension of public space, featuring biophilic passages, plazas, shopping, cafés, a high urban beach, and open areas for contemplation, all accessible to the public.A key feature is the 360-degree panoramic experience, offering emotional and visual connections to the walled city, Caribbean Sea, Cabrero Lagoon, and surrounding neighborhoods. Its staggered terraces ensure every level opens to the urban and natural landscape.More than a building, Baluarte 360 is a living infrastructure that fosters inclusion, dignifies pedestrian movement, and reactivates neglected urban edges. It transcends mere functionality to build connections—an architectural gesture that creates relationships, preserves memory, and enhances the city. Tutor(s)
