The Last Vacation project, developed in collaboration with Arif Ismail, explores the concept of "Palliative Tourism" as an innovative and alternative approach to traditional tourism in the Lake District, UK. The project aims to provide end-of-life care for individuals facing terminal illnesses, offering a meaningful experience during the final stages of life while emphasizing the dignity of patients and their families. Designed to cater to the unique needs of individuals requiring palliative care. These serene locations, nestled in the natural beauty of the Lake District, create a calming atmosphere for contemplation, and connection with nature. The project recognises the importance of addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of care, providing specialized services to enhance the overall well-being of patients. The project takes a holistic approach, considering not only the physical infrastructure and operational systems but also the intricate nuances of human behavior surrounding palliative care, funerals, and death. By integrating spatial qualities, lighting, emotions, and cultural backgrounds, the project aims to create spaces that resonate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The design and implementation processes honor and respect cultural perspectives, traditions, and beliefs, fostering inclusivity and understanding
