Reinterpreting the Mosonmagyarovar Mill and Brewery as an Urban Space Part 2 Project 2024 Eniko Jagudits Budapest University of Technology and Economics | Hungary The aim of the diploma project was to reinterpret a former industrial building complex in the heart of a small Hungarian town, which once played an important role in the life of the town. Nowadays the historical monument is standing as an enclosure in the urban fabric, with deteriorated buildings, without any open way through it and no access to the banks of the Lajta River, which flows through the area.My plan is to reintegrate the area into the urban structure, to make the spaces between the buildings part of the urban fabric, open up and use the existing connections and to provide access to the riverbank. I envision the complex for the benefit of the local people with urban functions such as an urban market, a museum, craft workshops, shops, a training workshop, a children's workshop, and restaurants. The interventions will revitalise the site in a minimal and subtle way, with no major alterations, demolitions or additions to existing buildings, they are creating a new contemporary layer. I have used landscape architecture to organise the buildings' surroundings, applied minimal architecture to the exterior and interior spaces to serve the new functions. Tutor(s) Levente Szabó
