(Vision)tino Part 1 Project 2024 Tyra Göth University for the Creative Arts | UK Project (Vision)tino is located in Vigentino, Milan, and addresses the rising levels of vision impairment locally, as well as globally. Year 2023, 2,2 billion people were reported to suffer from vision impairment globally, and 2,8 million people were affected in Italy. The numbers are drastically rising every year. (Vision)tino highlights this issue by; 1. helping with vision impairment through an optical clinic, and 2. preventing vision impairment through a work-and-study space designed with ideal conditions for your eye health. The rapidly growing district Vigentino is a good host for this project as it both reflects the industrial past of the site and addresses the needs of the many office workers and students in the area.Focus lays on creating eye-friendly spaces as well as creating visual impairment-friendly spaces, to emphasize the importance of eye health in our modern lifestyle, especially in relation to the increased exposure to digital screens, and to address the needs of people suffering. Careful consideration has been put into material choices, massing, orientation, light values, light exposure, colours, acoustics, sensory features, and user flow to achieve an ideal environment for your eyes and for helping people with vision impairment or blindness to navigate safely.
