Pollination Pathway

Part 1 Project 2025

This project aims to be a space for discussion of political climate issues amongst the people and Scottish government. It brings together the important contributors of Glasgow’s natural and human environment in a space of discussion. This cohabitation exists to include all parties in discussions of climate issues, valuing all groups equally.

The physicality of the space focusses around openness and locate-ability. The large assembly structure aims to promote visibility of government discussions and invite the public into said discussions. The permeable ground floor uses the inviting arches to draw the public into the central courtyard, a space centred around community and ease of movement. Finally, the government offices sit peacefully within the main re-generated space, the building is simplistic and open to promote understanding and permeability of the government’s decisions and discussions.

The access to the space comes from the ‘pollination pathway’ an overpass that weaves within the centre of Glasgow. Lined with plants selected to strengthen pollinator populations, the pathway not only becomes circulation for pedestrians through Glasgow, but also a route for pollinators to move between the city centres parks.
