Earth and Stone Part 1 Project 2025 Oliver Campbell University of Lincoln Lincoln | UK The design draws inspiration from earthen and desert architectural practices connecting to sustainability, artistry and structure. With these architectural styles, the design seeks to educate nearby residents about less known and accepted design strategies that could be implemented into the UK urban culture to develop dynamic visuals whilst assisting in creating habitable interior spaces in a world growing hotter due to global warming. It’s use as an arts centre in the city of Norwich aims to connect all residential areas to art, and not just those who attend the arts university. It seeks to allow an eclectic userbase to experience, learn, create and display the art that they wish, in whatever medium they desire due to its many specialised spaces for multiple disciplines. In short, the project seeks to connect the disconnected, being the UK culture to more earthen and desert architectural practices, and to connect all people of Norwich to the art that they could create.
