The project begins with the idea of tectonic movement as a generative force, materializing in the regeneration and expansion of two pre- existing heritage buildings: the National Library of Colombia and the Museum of Modern Art of Bogotá (MAMBO). This intervention reactivates these cultural landmarks and redefines their relationship with the urban and natural environment.

Both buildings are conceived as tectonic architectures: the Library folds into the terrain, containing knowledge in ascending layers; the MAMBO fragments into opposing volumes that host both introspective and open programs. Between them, a shared public space emerges—a habitable fissure that reconnects with the urban fabric.

Beyond the site, the project proposes environmental and urban regeneration: through interventions in public space, an ecological continuity is established between the Bicentenario Park, the National Park, and the Eastern Hills. This green corridor repairs landscape fractures and links the main ecological structure to urban development, positively impacting Bogotá’s environmental health.

Thus, heritage is reactivated, the urban is restructured, and the natural is regenerated. The project operates as a living system that transforms the eastern edge into a new cultural, environmental, and collective landscape for the city.
