Demeter Island - Cryptopia Part 2 Project 2025 Samuel Pick Leeds Beckett University | UK The project presents DEMETER ISLAND, a masterplan created by the PICK Guild, part of the VLAD TEPES Cult. Set in the year 2055, the cult porduces a masterplan that responds to the environmental catasrophe the world faces.The guild plans to use its vast resources gained through blockchain and advanced technologies to build grand architectures and develop a virtual world that overlays onto the physical world. The masterplan makes use of retired Oil Rig ‘Jackets’ to produce a floating city. The project explores a hybridised reality, where the physical and digital realm come together. Granting a digital sandbox for Guild members and guests to use as they like, offering services that can protect the digital realm of the UK, becoming the UK coastal and online protector, benefitting the well-being of those in the physical and digital reality. Producing digital forms that will come part of the physical world. Exploring how future technologies can be part of the future of inhabited spaces and produce a new hybrid realityThe narrative between the guilds explores the justice and equality of resources and spaces and proposes a concept that suggests a strategy that can resolve environmental issues the world will soon face.
