Yachay Wasi Interactive Museum Part 2 Project 2025 Andrea Victoria Cabrera ReynosoMaria Fernanda Lam Cao University of Lima | Peru Yachay Wasi is an interactive museum located within the Parque de las Leyendas, next to the Huaca Tres Palos. The project offers a contemporary approach to pre-Hispanic architecture, establishing a thoughtful relationship with the remains of the past through formal and spatial language. The museum’s layout is defined by the arrangement of intersecting planes that create open, transitional spaces of varying scales. This composition moves away from the idea of a solid volume and instead generates routes shaped by voids, thresholds, and subtle contrasts between light and shadow.Drawing inspiration from identifiable architectural elements in the huacas — such as platforms, walls, and paths — the project seeks to integrate into the archaeological context without replicating or overpowering it. Through public spaces and pedestrian connections, the proposal offers an open architecture that encourages visitors to rediscover the heritage landscape from a contemporary perspective.
