Diving Into Nature Part 1 Project 2019 Yuzheng Yao Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University | China The project aims to regenerate an old thermal power plant area on the banks of the Yangpu River and transform it into a new fashion hub. The design hopes to reverse the image of huge pollution generated by both thermal power plants and fashion industry through a sustainable fashion attitude. There are many solutions to reduce the pollution generated in the fashion design process and this project took advantages of the natural plant dyeing skill. The architecture is expected to accommodate a variety of fashion industry-related activities from planting, producing to designing, displaying and sailing, so that people can better understand the concept of sustainable fashion. In order to allow plants to grow wildly, the new building completely opens the ground floor. Relying on the old structure, the building takes a concept of growing from the top layer to down. The new building, like an organism, starts to grow from the main power station and spreads to the entire plant along with free-growing plants. The building will always be in an unfinished state as it will always keep growing. Tutor(s) Juan Carlos Dall'Asta José Ángel Hidalgo Arellano
